Timber formwork is a temporary construction which keeps concrete in place during its pouring, and keeps it in its planned form all until the concrete is consolidated and formed. Formwork may also be used for the purpose of forming the top layer of concrete, and acquiring certain aesthetic effects, and in that way may be lost, i.e. may be partially built in concrete.
